Isaia Francesco

Francesco Isaia graduated in Building Engineering at Politecnico di Torino in October 2014. After one year as a grant researcher at the Department of Energy and one year of professional experience in the field of Project and Construction Management in Milan, he starts a PhD in Energetics. From June to December 2018, he spends a visiting research period at the Sustainable Buildings Research Centre (SBRC) at the University of Wollogong (Australia).

In July 2020 he obtains his PhD degree with a thesis on advanced control strategies for active building components. In particular, the thesis explored the opportunities provided by the implementation of Model Predictive Control (MPC) strategies to manage the state selection of electrochromic windows. His research activity is aimed at improving the energy performance and comfort conditions in buildings by exploiting advanced control strategies during operation.

He is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher within the Institute for Renewable Energy of Eurac Research and collaborates with the Department of Energy of Politecnico di Torino, continuing his research activity on the implementation of advanced control strategies for active building components.
