Fiorentini Massimo

Dr Massimo Fiorentini is Scientist at Empa - Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology, Urban Energy Systems Laboratory. He holds a Bachelors and Master’s Degree from Politecnico di Milano in Mechanical Engineering. He obtained his PhD from University of Wollongong, collaborating with research scientists from the CSIRO Energy Centre. Massimo started his career at ABB as a Product Manager, and continued as a Research Scientist, focusing on energy systems design and operational optimization, and advanced control strategies for building energy management. His current research focus is on sesasonal thermal energy storage. He is currently an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the Sustainable Buildings Research Centre (SBRC), University of Wollongong, Australia. He was a member of the Standards Australia EL-054 committee (Demand Response) and of International Energy Agency EBC Annexes.
