Lecture of our Lab member Silvio Brandi at University of Texas at Austin

On 13/04/2021 our Lab member Brandi Silvio gave a lecture in the course "Smart Buildings and Cities" chaired by Prof. Zoltan Nagy (University of Texas at Austin - Intelligent Environment Laboratory). In the presentation titled  "Free from model - A novel paradigm for the control of the built environment", Silvio discussed the development and implementation of novel control strategies in buildings.

The focus was on the opportunities and perspectives that Deep Reinforcement Learning provides in this field of application for the optimization of building energy systems during operation.

Particular attention was devoted to analyse the main design and deployment approaches of such disruptive tecnology, highlighting the next research challenges to be faced for its fully exploitation in the building sector.

Special thanks to Prof. Zoltan Nagy for supporting the knowledge-transfer process on this cutting-edge research topic.
